Squattastic
Author | DIAKADI Trainer Allan Mateo
One of my all time personal favorite discussion topics is whether or not it’s safe to perform a “full squat” (a hip angle less than 90 degrees), and since this is my blog, and I was explicitly told that I could speak my mind on the matter, here it is: ABSOLUTELY! If done PROPERLY, it is not only safe, but more so beneficial for the gluteal and biceps femoris complex, as it requires more recruitment from these muscle groups (posterior chain); which would be better regarding an overall balance of hip strength between posterior and anterior chains, thus decreasing the likelihood of any hip dysfunction and low back pain.

I believe that it is not the destination but the journey that helps us to grow and change and thrive. Developing a healthy body as well as a strong mind and spirit enables us to meet our daily challenges with enough energy and strength to perform at our best and the will and power to succeed in life.

I try to learn as much from my clients as they learn from me. My rates have been at the top of the field since the mid-90s, and I tend to attract well-off clientele of self-made, enormously successful millionaires-and I try to learn as much from them as they learn from me.

Dealing with Plantar Fasciitis
Dealing with Plantar Fasciitis | By Scott Schwartz, Owner and Therapist of Psoas Massage + Bodywork
Our feet. We use them to walk, run, pedal and even pop & lock (for all you phresh dancers out there). And with all we put our feet through daily, be it hardcore workouts or hardcore high heels, they can seize up on us to a point where even the simple task of walking becomes a problem. And for those of you who do more than walk (personally, I prefer to Fox Trot around), foot pain can be as annoying as it is debilitating.

Author: Commit to Fit 2011 Winner, Dave Mckew
As promised, I re-engaged with food after the damaging holidays and lost over 6.5 pounds during the first week of the month. This was my largest drop since October, and a welcome one after basically “treading water” on the scale for most of November and December. At this point I have lost 98.3 pounds in just over 10 months.
